The Palestinian Performing Arts Network Statement

Israeli violations of basic Palestinian human rights is and always will be a constant for Palestinians living in the West Bank including East Jerusalem, the Gaza Strip and the occupied 1948 territories. Within this framework, Al Midan Theatre in Haifa has become the target of another racially motivated violation, aimed at silencing their artistic creativity and limiting their freedom of expression.

We the Palestinian Performing Arts Network highly condemn the continuous tactics and measures applied by the Israeli occupation in the aim of silencing the Palestinian voice and the collective voice of cultural and artistic organizations. We the Palestinian Performing Arts Network are pleading with international organizations to immediately intervene and support Al Midan Theatre's right to freedom of artistic expression.

In our capacity as cultural and artistic organizations, we collectively announce that our organization's doors and theatres will always welcome your current and future productions, in order to ensure that Palestinian narrative is always amplified in response to Israeli violations. Together as artists, we will carry the stories that unite us, and will not allow their walls and barriers to prevent us from connecting with one another. Together, we are capable of withstanding this occupation that suppresses our artistic creativity.
